Amadou Sanogo

150 × 159 cm, acrylic on canvas

Amadou Sanogo depicts the enthusiasm of youth here. This proverb echoes the words adults say to children when they race with millet stalks carved into the shape of horses' heads. Children think that their horse will win the race, but if they fall, it is not the horse that will suffer. In other words, it is better to avoid « rushing headlong » or « charging ahead ».
