Amadou Sanogo depicts a bust of a figure accompanied by a shadow extending beyond the frame, with a red flower emerging from its mouth. In Bambara culture, the shadow represents the reflection of oneself and human behaviour. It is like a second entity that follows and precedes the person, like a reputation. The boxing gloves symbolise the strength needed to avoid harming oneself.
