L'herbe

Evariste Richer

plaster, selenite, 29 x 12 x 10 cm

L’herbe (Grass) refers to the green selenite (gypsum) deposited in the hollow of a plaster-molded hand. The work proposes a dialogue between what is available (a production of nature) and what makes art (the sculptor’s primary tool). It is part of a series where Evariste Richer molds each time differently a hand, matching the size of the stones he collects, and in which the dust from his workshop settles.
