Mireille Ngatse lived for years in the Tropical House of Brazzaville designed by the famous builder French, Jean Prouvé. That's all he had left after the death of His father. There was no water or electricity, but she felt Well in his house. She loved moonlight and fresh air that was circulating there.
A few years ago, French gallerists came to Brazzaville and bought the Tropical House. They dismantled it and carried in containers. Mireille leaf, today a catalogue in which she reviews her house exhibited in Paris, on the banks of the Seine.
Manthia Diawara, from Mali, made her film from the artistic project of Angela Ferreira on the Tropical House of Jean Prove that she presented in Venice. The film is a reconstruction at from the memory of the inhabitants of Niamey and Brazzaville and proposes a reflection on the problems of post-colonialism, art, National identity and cultural heritage.
