Gilles A. Tiberghien

Lives and works in Paris.

Gilles A. Tiberghien works at the crossroads of art and art history. aesthetics what shows, among other things, its interest in aesthetics and the history of art in the 20th century which he translated and presented several authors (Benedetto Croce, Luigi Pareyson, Cesare Brandi, etc.) He is one of the first in France to explore the Land art artistic form and aesthetic reflection. He's more interested to art and landscape relations, to cabins, point of ambiguous and privileged encounter between humans and what is called nature, poetry and literature.
He directed the Arts and aesthetics collection (Carré, Hoëbeke and Bayard), 1996-2004. He is a member of the drafting committee of the Cahiers du Museum of Modern Art and co-editor-in-chief with Jean-Marc Besse des Landscape notebooks.
