Artist

Alain Michard is a multidisciplinary artist: choreographer, director, visual artist and filmmaker.
He develops his projects in several parallel and transversal spaces, ranging from the stage to public space, from visual arts to cinema.

Cultivating the art of "not on the sidelines", he works closely with the contexts in which his creations are realized. Moving between documentary and fiction, often in "off-the-track" environments, architecture and landscapes, neighborhoods and villages, he associates the inhabitants, who are both subjects, sources and relays, and sometimes interpreters.

His performances for the stage can be described as "dance-theater" with a work based on interpretation, nonsense (or burlesque), scenography and sound creation.

An axis of his work is built around the notions of "collective history of art", "living memory" and "document body".
All his projects are crossed by the themes of wandering and the links between community, social, and intimate.
