About

Following Céramique on tour and an edition dedicated to ceramics in 2025, the Passerelle (Brest) and La Criée (Rennes) art centers are presenting Impressions multiples, a traveling exhibition and a series of residencies focused on works on paper printed in multiple copies.

Multiples on paper are limited-edition artworks produced by the artist or in collaboration with a printer, using various techniques such as screen printing, lithography, engraving, photogravure, risography, and more. These works take various forms, including posters, postcards, and books. Multiples are affordable works of art intended for wide distribution.

The project Impressions multiples  takes place within the framework of Territoires EXTRA #10.
Initiated since 2017 by the Passerelle art centers in Brest and La Criée in Rennes, and supported by the DRAC Bretagne, Territoires EXTRA develops around three lines of work: supporting emergence art in Brittany through production and dissemination; build a artistic project with Breton territorial actors; to integrate artistic emergence into an international dynamic. Territoires EXTRA takes the form of residences of research and--or creation artists and is accompanied by specific mediation work, in order to strengthen the links between public, local partners, institutions and project artistic, with a view to transmission and awareness around the presence of artists in the territories.

A travelling exhibition in 11 places in Brittany

Impressions multiples runs from July 15 to November 27 across 11 venues of very diverse types and formats spread across the four departments: places of education, artistic creation or artistic presentation, libraries, social service centers, third places, and more.
With the aim of reaching all audiences and engaging with different contexts, the two art centers have conceived an exhibition that can adapt to a wide range of environments. Easy to set up and take down, and easily transportable, the exhibition design—which is practical, aesthetically pleasing, and eco-friendly—was created by Brendan Cornic, a young designer from Brest. At each stage, cultural mediator Lucie Baumann offers tailored educational activities and visitor resources. She is assisted by Tony Regazzoni in setting up and transporting the exhibition from one location to another.
The exhibition Impressions multiples showcases the printed works of 22 artists and collectives based in Brittany — whether permanently or more temporarily — across all generations. It highlights the vitality of this medium, which offers artists rich creative possibilities while making their works accessible to a wide audience. The exhibition also showcases the remarkable work of a selection of Breton art print shops and publishing houses.
Through  Impressions multiples,  the Passerelle and La Criée art centers are reaching beyond their walls to showcase the emerging art scene throughout Brittany, bringing it closer to local residents. In doing so, they are fulfilling two complementary aspects of their role as key players in the region: supporting emerging artists and promoting contemporary art to a wide audience.

Residencies at the Domaine de Keravel in Plouha, at the Propice third place on Belle-Île and at the Art House in Jersey

In parallel with the exhibition, four artist residencies will be organized between July and November 2026, in and in collaboration with partner venues located in exceptional settings conducive to creative work: the Domaine de Keravel in Plouha, the Propice “third place” in Belle-Île, and the Greve de Lecq residency at the Art House in Jersey. During these residencies, the invited artists will be hosted for one month to engage in research and creation, during which they will be able to produce new works.
Through these residencies, the Passerelle and La Criée art centers are fulfilling their mission to support artistic creation, with a dual focus on supporting the local art scene and fostering exchanges with the Welsh art scene.
