Accompanied by Raphaële Jeune, a professor of art history, the ART students are conducting research based on the themes of the cycle (the vernacular in relation to contemporary art) with a view to developing both a historical corpus, theoretical and plastic or documentary works. An exhibition at the EESAB and publications will be produced on this occasion.
The companionship includes meetings with the different protagonists of the exhibition Mime at La Criée: artists Mathis Collins and Paul Collins, curator Émilie Renard and various members of the art center team. In December 2020, the students participate in a workshop with Mathis Collins and in a performance during the Rayon vert Paroles, Paroles, Paroles pensé par l’artiste and Émilie Renard.
The compagnonnage continues throughout the year with conferences or meetings with the artists of the cycle Lili, la rozell et le marimba : Jockum Nordström, Katia Kameli on the occasion of their exhibitions at La Criée and Aurélie Ferruel & Florentine Guédon during their residency in Rennes.
La Criée also supports students in their research by providing iconographic and bibliographical resources, internship proposals and visits to exhibitions at La Criée.
